All Apologies

You’d be sorry if you saw me
Writhing in pain in a bed we shared,
Wringing hands that you once held,
Wet face curled into trembling stare,
You’d be sorry if you saw me.

You’ll be sorry when you see me
Smiling into a kiss that is not yours,
Singing songs that you have never heard,
Shining so much brighter than before.
You’ll be sorry when you see me.
